Setting-up SFTP

You can use any SFTP (Secure FTP) client software to gain access to your gislab files.
Here are a couple of popular FREE clients:

  • Filezilla – http://filezilla-project.org (Windows, Mac, Linux)

There are 2 ftp servers. If you want to connect to the public share folder for class materials (P drive) the Hostname is gisrs01.fiu.edu, and the folder on the remote site is called ‘Public’. In order to connect to the public access data (Y drive) the Hostname is globe.fiu.edu., and the folder on the remote site is called ‘Data’. The content of your personal drive (Z drive) will be available in either connection.
